Therapy With Horses
Heart Lake Farm is honoured to work with Lisa (Sugwelhan) Hartwick, BScOT, MA (Psych) RCC, for adult individual and small group psychotherapy. Lisa has partnered with psychologist Dr. Marla Buchanan, PhD, and equine expert Brooklyn Rae Greig to design and pilot small group programs tailored especially for Heart Lake Farm, including an Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT)-informed group, and the Life Review program created at the UBC Centre for Group Counselling and Trauma and adapted to include horse work. We are striving to develop culturally relevant groups that meet the specific needs of today in our area. For more information on individual and group therapy with horses, please contact Lisa directly at lisa@lisahartwick.ca.

Alumni Days
Horse programs often leave a deep impact in the lives and hearts of those who experience them. To continue building and fostering relationships with our horses we offer monthly opportunities for former program participants to return to the farm for an afternoon of quality time with the horses and reconnect with these special teachers. Join us for some grooming, learn more about horses, try out some fun EAL obstacles and make new friends. Alumni Days are open to former EAL and EAP participants and clients. Registration is required.
